Helen Tam, PhD, received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology with specialization in Cognitive and Affective Neurosciences from Penn State University after completing a Master’s degree in Physiological Neurosciences from UCLA with specialization in Neuroendocrinology as well as a Master’s degree in Psychology in the Child Clinical Track from Penn State University. She completed her post-doctoral training at NYU in the Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital, where she now acts as a volunteer professor. Dr. Tam is licensed as a psychologist in NY and NJ. Throughout her experience as a neuropsychologist, Dr. Tam has gained expertise in assessing children and young adults affected with a variety of challenges, including ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, specific learning disabilities, brain injuries, and secondary effects of cancer and cardiac events.
Specialties & Services:
I primarily work with school-aged kids with neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., ADHD, autism, learning disabilities) and/or kids with a history of medical complications that may interfere with their learning and cognitive skills development.
I specialize in providing neuropsychological evaluations tailored to the individual needs of each student.
I provide Neuropsychological assessment and Executive Function Skills coaching
About Dr. Tam:
I have two kids and a hound dog who keep me very busy. I love dancing, skiing, visiting new places, cooking, and making things with my hands.
